Why fire at 1300°C?

Firing at 1300°C ensures safety, high heat resistance, strength, and durability. At this temperature, harmful heavy metals are effectively removed, and the critical threshold for high-temperature porcelain is typically around 1200°C.
However, high-temperature firing requires stricter craftsmanship, longer firing times, and incurs significantly higher costs, with a much lower production rate. In contrast, low-temperature firing yields higher production rates but requires fluxing agents, which may increase lead content and slowly release it at certain temperatures. Low-temperature glazes are typically used for decorative pieces due to their rich colors, but they are not suitable for food use.
High-temperature glazes, though more limited in color, offer a subtle, understated elegance, and are much more durable and safe, as they do not leach lead or cadmium. This makes them ideal for functional pieces, such as tableware.

Our Mission

Personalized Custom Handmade Ceramic Cups,
Crafted in Jingdezhen, Where Tradition Meets Artistry

Each piece is born in the heart of Jingdezhen, the porcelain capital, where 72 traditional steps transform raw materials into a masterpiece.
To faithfully convey the artist’s design intent, every step— from hand-throwing, trimming, glazing, painting, firing, to painting again— is carried out exclusively by the artist themselves.
Due to the intricate process, the production rate is low, but it’s this very rarity that makes each piece a unique and treasured work of art.

Why Choose Underglaze Decoration for Custom Handmade Ceramic Cups?

Underglaze decoration involves a more complex process than overglaze, where the design is applied directly onto the raw porcelain before glazing and fired at high temperatures. This technique ensures a more durable, smooth finish that is securely fused with the porcelain, making it ideal for functional pieces such as tableware.
However, underglaze decoration requires a more intricate process, with multiple stages of firing and careful handwork, which results in higher production costs and a longer production time. The process is labor-intensive, requiring skill and precision at every stage, which is why the production rate is lower.
While overglaze decoration uses lower firing temperatures and can result in more vivid colors, it may lack the long-term durability and safety required for food-use items. Underglaze pieces, by contrast, offer superior durability, smooth textures, and greater safety, as they do not leach harmful substances. The higher cost reflects the craftsmanship and the lasting quality of the piece.
